Words of a Song as Music Decor

The words in your favorite song or songs can be displayed as wall decor. Wall decor comes in many shapes and sizes. It is also possible to use multiple items and create a grouping using multiple items. When I put multiple items together in a group, I find that using an odd number works best to create a gallery wall.

Sometimes it is possible to find wall decor that is designed to stick to a large wall. It might be the word Music or perhaps the flow of piano keys or multiple musical instruments. Designs of this type make a nice decoration over a sofa or the head of a bed.

Words of a Song

A country music artist really got my attention when he sang the song God Bless the USA. Recently I came across a wall plaque with words from that song. The lyrics "If tomorrow all the things were gone I'd worked for all my life" still have meaning. In today's world, people who were in the path of the devastating hurricanes and fires, and others suffering losses can all relate. He won a Country Music Award for Song of the Year in 1985 for writing God Bless the USA.

Whenever I hear the name, Lee Greenwood, I think of a couple of other songs for which he is known, and he is known for many. They are The Flag Still Stands for Freedom and I'm Proud to be an American Where at Least I Know I'm Free.

Think about using patriotic wall decor that brings a sense of warmth with its lyrics.

What about Hymn Tunes

Hymn tunes can also be found. I have a music box that plays What a Friend and the music of the song is inscribed on the lid that opens. I have also enjoyed wall plaques with a page from an old hymnal decoupaged on the plaque. The most popular hymn tunes that I have seen are The Old Rugged Cross, Blest Be the Tie also called DennisIn the Garden and The Little Brown Church in the Vale. Another that one might look for is Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.

Favorite hymns could be displayed in a wall grouping, perhaps on a wall over a piano. Displaying  one plaque on a narrow wall is also be a nice touch.

Song Titles

Vinyl records from the past also come to mind. Find a vinyl record from the past with the name of a popular song to which you or a loved one enjoyed listening. Create a wall display either using the record itself, or perhaps an album cover matted in a simple frame. The possibilities are endless. How many songs and/or artists can you think of that you would like to remember?

Think about the words of a song that brings a smile to your face.

Experience the Joys of Music Decor -- See, Hear, and Feel

Music became an important part of my life at approximately nine years old. It happened around the time I was introduced to piano lessons. Wow! Playing the notes and hearing the melody was a new and welcome adventure.

The adventure was all mine! I loved it! No one could do this for me. I had a teacher, but ultimately, I had to do this by myself! When thinking about it, I am reminded of individuals who learn to ride a unicycle. How does one explain the sense of accomplishment? Thinking back, a lot more opportunities presented themselves.

Square Dancing, it is said, is friendship set to music. More specifically, western style square dancing is commonly done with eight people in a square. Sometimes all eight people are moving, while there are other moves that require only four people to move. Dancers typically go through a series of lessons to learn the movements. When they complete the lessons, they can go to dances across the country and dance with other couples. Square Dancing is universal. It is not a competition. The people who do it do it for fun, and love music. Songs may be sung in various languages, but the calls to which they dance are all in English. People square dance around the world. Imagine the fun of dancing to the beat of the music and the sense of accomplishment felt when one can do this!

The Sounds of the Music

Music decor within a room is only one way to see and feel the presence of music. Experience an activity that comes to life with the sound of music. I love to hear the sound of chimes ... the sound that one hears when a wind chime is nudged by the wind ... it is music to my ears, especially tuned chimes.

A Melody in your Mind

Hear the melody play in your head, over and over again. How many times have you heard a song or a catchy tune and for the remainder of the day, you simply could not get it out of your head? You even find yourself walking to the rhythm of the beat. Perhaps you even begin to hum or sing along.

Feel the Joy Music Brings

Let your heart feel the joy that music brings. Have you ever seen tears well up in someone's eyes when their heart feels the joy of music as they hear a song that touches their heart? I have. One time as I was playing "How Great Thou Art" and as I looked out over the group of listeners, I saw a person with tears streaming down their cheeks as this song touched their heart. Another time, I was in a group of people and saw tears welling up in a person's eyes as they listened to someone sing "The Green Green Grass of Home".

Music is Around Us

Yes, it is wonderful to fill our homes with music decor! But, also, pay attention to the music around you, even when it is silent. Do you see it? Do you hear it? Do you feel it?

Are there nature sounds? Is there a rhythm to the sound of the falling rain? Is there a new rhythm waiting to be heard? Is there a rhythm sound that needs to be set to music and experienced in a song?

Think about it ... as you experience the joys of music decor in your life!

Music Decor and Color

Colors for music decor are best defined by the person who is looking for music decor. What they are looking for and how they want to use it may greatly impact their choice of colors. If you start at the beginning and read all of my posts, you will find that music decor can be full of every color in the rainbow.

Some questions you might ask yourself are:

'Are you looking for something in particular?'
'How or Where do you want to use it?'
'What is the color scheme?' and 'What is your favorite color?'

Personally, I like a lot of color, but my scheme for decorating has normally been to select earth tones for the large items in the room, window treatment, and wall covering colors. This makes changing the look of the room much easier. All I have to do is change the color of the accessories or change the actual decor. I like music decor because I like music and it makes me happy. Also, it is very easy to change or rearrange.

One scheme let me add one bright-colored item, such as a red chair. After that, the decor on my walls and other items in the room could take on any color or muliple colors that compliment what is already there.

Another scheme let me add light blues to the earth tones in the room. As long as the blues in the room blended with each other, I could still add accessories in blues or those that blended well with the blues in the room.

What is not to love about music decor ...

Color it happy in shades that compliment your setting. The variety is phenomenal!

Where to find it ...

First of all, are you looking for something in particular? If so, it could be easy to locate, or depending on what you are looking for, it might take a little longer to locate. Let's face it. Some items relating to music decor are readily available at specialty stores, i.e. ones that carry musical instruments or other large items. Others are located within larger stores or grouped with other music-related merchandise. They may be found on the web as well as brick and mortar stores.

One day I decided to browse on the internet. Much to my surprise, I found some items at Bed Bath & Beyond and other items at Hobby Lobby -- Stores that sell other items often carry interesting decor that falls within the realm of music-related home decor. Terms you might enter in a search box besides music decor might be music, musical, music notes, keyboard, guitar, and other words relating to music decor.

At the time I was searching, Bed Bath & Beyond had an item called Wood Guitar Pick Wall Art. I am including a link if you want to take a peek and check it out.
Wood Guitar Pick Wall Art

At Hobby Lobby, I searched for music wall decor and also for music stickers. Do-it-yourselfers or scrapbookers might also find an assortment of music word stickers.

Sometimes you might need to think outside the box and just browse to see what comes up when you search. I have found many items relating to music decor in stores that carry things in a variety of categories. Until you actually look or search, it is hard to know what you can find.

The Hunt ...

The hunt to find unusual items relating to music decor is part of the journey in creating the atmosphere you want for your room. In the right-hand column of this blog, you can also find links to some of the items I have already located. My intent is to share links which you may enjoy, but not overwhelm you. It is so much fun having a happy room by adding music decor that blends well.

Thank you for visiting Music Decor and More and thank you for purchasing through my links. When you do, it will not cost you any more, and I may make a small commission.

Let Me Call You Sweetheart

This is an old familiar waltz tune. The last four lines of Let Me Call You Sweetheart are probably most remembered.

Let me call you "Sweetheart," I'm in love with you.
Let me hear you whisper that you love me too.

Keep the love-light glowing in your eyes so true.
Let me call you "Sweetheart," I'm in love with you.

What do we know about this song?

Leo Friedman (July 16, 1869 - March 7, 1927), was an American composer of popular music, He was born in Elgin, Illinois, and died in Chicago, Illinois. He is best remembered for the sentimental waltz, "Let Me Call You Sweetheart". He also wrote "Meet me tonight in Dreamland" and other songs from that era.

Lyrics are by Beth Slater Whitson. The song was first published in 1910. It was first sung by The Peerless Quartet. The song was recorded by Bette Midler for the film "The Rose" and the accompanying "The Rose Soundtrack".

Where was this song Written?

It was written at the Center View Hotel at Bass Lake, Indiana, by Mr. Friedman, who was a frequent guest at the hotel. According to legend, the hotel owner, Mrs. Hewitt, was the song's sweetheart. The guest rooms numbered twelve and were decorated in themes. The original score is said to be displayed in the "Sweetheart" room.

There is a little more known history about this hotel. In the 1960's, the hotel owner was Harry Neal Baum. He was the son of L. Frank Baum, author of the famous "Oz" stories. At that time, it became the Oz Cot Lodge and Restaurant. I mention this because "The Wizard of Oz" is a well-known story that was made into a musical movie. I remember watching it over and over and never getting tired of it.

The Song

Below is a beautiful rendition of "Let me call you Sweetheart" by The Mills Brothers. There are other versions available, but they perform a smooth, lovely version that one could waltz to. Click on the video to listen.

If you can find an original piece of sheet music of this song, suitable for framing, it would be a great addition to your music decor. It could be hung in your music room, or with other items in a musical grouping, or displayed by itself. Classic songs are a nice addition to your music decor.

Music Decor and More Blog is still Alive

Music Decor and More is still alive. Let me say "Welcome Back!" You may notice a few changes.  However, overall, content discussing ideas and suggestions about music decor is still intact, and your comments are still welcome. It is still all related to music.

A few things have changed. Affiliate shopping links are still located in the right-hand column, and that is likely where you will find the most revisions. Feel free to check out some links that are now located on other blog sites.

New Beginnings

If you like to read adventure stories, this true story may be one you will not want to miss. In November, 2015, my husband and I started traveling full time. My husband started a blog at http://incargonito.blogspot.com in January 2014, when he began talking about the trailer build for the cargo trailer that we would live in for seven months when our adventure all began.

My blog at http://rvfulltimelivingandtraveling.blogspot.com went live in December 2015, soon after we began this new adventure. I have added links to both of our travel blogs in the column on the right, if you would like to follow our travel adventure and see pictures as our story unfolds.

Music Decor

Transitioning to this new lifestyle has been a wild ride! We both love music! We love to travel and see the country! In our new lifestyle, obviously I did not have room for all of my music decor. A lot of time and energy was expended through the various stages of getting ready.

My focus slowly shifted away from topics for my Music Decor and More blog. Most of my writing became centered around content needed to list items on auction sites, such as eBay. A lot of energy was needed for the decision-making tasks to make this new adventure happen. Other venues, such as yard sales, Facebook online yard sale sites, and finding contact people for groups to donate other items were needed for this entire process.

Then  came the job of organizing what we kept. I did not get rid of everything. Music is still a big part of my life.

What happened to my spinet piano?

It came with us in the trailer. Part of the deal in making the decision to travel full time was that my piano would come with us and not end up in a storage area somewhere.  By the way, we also have my 120-bass accordion and John's six-string guitar with us. Even though we have thinned out a lot of our music, we still have plenty of things to keep us happy.

Music Decor is still alive

Music is near and dear to our hearts, especially mine! And I still notice music notes, music boxes, and many other things. It might be a corinthian bell windchime with its beautiful tuned chime nudged by the wind that falls on my ear. Seeing a piece of material relating to music would also bring a smile to my face. Sometimes a song or a rhythm starts going through my mind. Music covers such a broad topic. It is wonderful!

With Halloween coming up next month, I detect more musical things in fun, spooky decorations than I used to notice -- like a dancing musical witch hat for this fun spooky holiday, for instance. Is that creepy or just fun!

It's good to be back blogging about music decor. We might even find some unusual musical instruments or dig into some unknown facts about songs that were popular, and still are.

Stay tuned and watch for more articles. Your thoughts are welcome and can be added in the comments section below.

As always, many thanks for clicking on my links. If/when you make a purchase, your cost does not increase, and I may make a small commission.

Out-of-Print Book "the guitars friend" for Music Decor

Music books, song books, sheet music, hymns, hymnals, new releases, or out-of-print books may be  the diamond in the rough that will light up your music décor.  These might be new, vintage, or even antique, and on the rarest of occasions, you might even find some that appear to be older than dirt.

What appears to be a rare find, "the guitars friend", recently caught my attention because it is an out-of-print book.  It is a catalog of musical instruments, supplies, parts, accessories, and books. The copyright date is 1977.  Included in its pages are evaluations of the best in electric guitars and acoustic guitars, banjos, dulcimers, mandolins, fiddles, recorders, flutes, harmonicas, concertinas, drums, and more.  You can read more details about it at http://www.preservationsound.com/?p=3001 and there you will also find a 13-page excerpt from the book that you can download.  Learning more about this book will help you decide if it is a good fit for your music décor. As to sources where this book and others might be found, it is hard to pinpoint, but eBay, a book sale, or a yard sale might be a good place to start.

These diamonds in the rough could be music books about or for specific instruments, not just a guitar, but perhaps a 12-string guitar, accordion, organ, piano, hammered dulcimer, violin or classical music from the great composers.  In fact, one day I was sorting through a stack of old stuff that I had forgotten about in my music filing cabinet and ran across a dozen special pieces of classical music called Progressive Series Compositions 97 to 100 years old. These even showed the grade of the composition.

Why do I call them special?  Because this classical music has a picture of the composer on the front, and had been revised to include a biographical sketch of the composer and a healthy discussion of how the music was meant to be played, along with the music composition itself, and on the back page was a note to the music teacher, basically telling the music teacher they are the judge of its merit.  WOW!  How cool is that!  If you were a music teacher, could you see that in a frame on your music wall?

How many times have you been to a flea market or a yard sale and come across music?  Did you ever think about framing a piece of sheet music or creating a type of mural in a frame using multiple pieces?  You might even find old hymn tunes that have been decoupaged onto old stained blocks of wood designed to be displayed on the wall.  I could go on and on, but only your imagination limits the opportunities that await you with the discovery of musical treasures.

B# (be sharp), keep an open mind and train your eyes to seek the unusual and unexpected.  However you choose to define rare finds, diamonds in the rough, or the catch of the day makes no difference. Do not stress if you have days when treasures that will enhance your music decor are no where to be found. The main thing is to have fun, enjoy the journey, and keep smiling.

Your comments are welcome.

Music Decor and the Unusual

The unusual things we learn about music can shed new light on what we display, and how. Learning more about music and its great music composers can often have a huge impact in selecting music decor. A little bit of history, especially with a story to tell, can make your music decor even more interesting.

The famous song AVE MARIA lists two names, Bach-Gounod, as its composer. Bach and Gounod lived about one hundred years apart. How could these two men who never met write the same composition?

The story goes that Bach wrote a composition based upon broken chords -- chords sounding like they were played on a harp. About a hundred years later, Gounod heard it and thought it would make a great accompaniment for a melody. Gounod wrote the tune in which he set the words of AVE MARIA to music.

Bach is considered to be one of the three greatest music composers who ever lived, but for nearly one hundred years after his death, his works were not sung or played much. As other fine musicians like Gounod and Mendelssohn discovered his work and included them in their own programs, Bach's name reached the height in music that we know it today.

One evening while Ludwig van Beethoven was taking a stroll through the poorer section of Vienna, he heard the sounds of his famous MOONLIGHT SONATA coming from an attic window. It was being played different than he intended when he wrote it. There was an occasional wrong note and the player would play to one point and then seem to get mixed up. He listened for a while and then curiosity got the best of him. He climbed the stairs to the attic, knocked on the door, and a little girl greeted him and invited him in. The pianist was her brother and his blindness was the reason for the mistakes. When Beethoven played the piano for her brother, he knew it had to be Beethoven because no one else could play the beautiful music so well.

When you think of Handel, did you know his father did not want him to be interested in music?   He was told he must not perform music. They even moved the harpsichord away so he could not play it. There is a painting that shows Handel playing the clavier (like a piano)in his night clothes and in the background are his mother and father holding a lighted candle. They are gazing into the dark trying to see who is playing in the middle of the night. Handel would tip-toe to practice when no one was around.

When you select music decor, don't overlook possible history and/or the rest of the story that your guests will be sure to enjoy!

Design Ideas for Music Decor

Think about design ideas that use music-related items.  Music decor can be one simple design or incorporate many related ideas.  Keep it simple or use your imagination to create home decor that speaks volumes.

Remember, simple is what you perceive it to be.  Want it more glamorous -- try adding larger pieces, more color, and create different styles.  Music can encompass a variety of topics.  Design ideas can be created with musical items by varying shapes, styles, sounds, art, and types of music.

Make it jazzy, if you like jazz.  If your theme is western, keep it country.  If you like gospel, there are a lot of vintage hymns, traditional, and contemporary selections from which to pick.  Design ideas using classic Rock, classical, big band sounds, bluegrass, are among others from which to select to create different styles that add a sophisticated, comfy, dreamy, upbeat, or relaxing mood to your music decor.

Start by jotting down some ideas, such as types of music you like, songs you enjoy listening to, your favorite dance tunes, and determine what all of these ideas have in common.  Is there a commonality, such as how all of them pertain to music?  Identify their differences as well, and think about what makes them special to you.  How many of these design ideas can you incorporate into your decor? Music, like wood decor, can all match, or it can be different types arranged to accent and compliment each other.

Design ideas may include music-related wall art, music boxes, decorative pieces, music books or sheet music, anything with music notes, rugs, furniture with a music design, windchimes, or anything that captures your attention that will compliment a common theme.

A memory from life experiences whether it is a pamphlet from a play or a simple reminder of fun things you've done, such as waltzing, dancing to folk tunes, going to the symphony, singing with the church choir, reminiscing to the oldies, attending a ballet, listening to contemporary jazz on a cruise ship or a song you heard at the local fifties diner, tapping to the beat of a distant drum, or something altogether different can be incorporated into your musical design ideas.  Decorate your living quarters to give it a flavor for who you are with a warmth that welcomes friends.

As you decorate your room, pay particular attention to the direction of the items you are using.  You may want a wall that is balanced from left to right to give a central focus.  This can be accomplished with two pictures whose direction is toward each other.  Sometimes an entire grouping can be arranged with one picture to the far left and one to the far right, giving your design ideas a centering effect.

Other times, you may want your design to go completely around the room.  In this case, make sure each piece is placed in the same direction, so your eyes easily follow and move around the room in one direction.  If the direction of one item is opposite, it will cause your eyes to instantly switch direction and move the other way around the room.  This creates an imbalance because instead of moving in one direction, it is as though your attention is first directed right, then left, etc.

When I first heard of this technique, I walked into one room where I had decor on every wall.  The first thing I noticed was the direction of one item flowing in the opposite direction from all of the others.  I relocated it to a position whereby it naturally redirected my attention in the opposite direction. The difference was amazing!  Almost unbelievable, an immediate feeling of harmony entered that room.  Placement and direction of your design ideas are important to the harmony in your room.

Music Decor and Music Belt Buckles

What does Music Decor mean to you?  In general terms, it is a theme normally thought of in terms of  interior decorating where music related items are used to compliment each other in any room of your home, apartment, other dwelling, or even carried into your office theme.  How you choose to use music themed items is only limited by your imagination.

Think outside the box.  If you find a music themed item you like, think about how or where you can use it to compliment other music decor.  Garden spots, a cozy porch, a favorite deck where you entertain friends, or a place where you do hobbies or find solitude can all include music-themed home decor.  How many people do you know who like to putter?  Where do they go to putter?  Is it their man room where they play with their HO model trains, a shed where they work on gardening or painting, or a workshop in the garage, or enjoy camping in their RV?

What about your mailbox, a place you visit six days a week.  One mail box I drive by nearly every day has a music staff and music notes in black painted over a white mail box.

By now, you are probably wondering what all of this has to do with music belt buckles and where I am going with this post. Belt buckles are just one type of music accessory, but typically people who like music and music decor like to wear music accessories.  Think about music themed jewelry.

Take belt buckles, for example - let's start a list of belt buckles that are music-related buckles.  You can probably add more items to this list.

Microphone belt buckle
Drums belt buckle
Headphones belt buckle
Turntable belt buckle
Guitar belt buckle
Country Music belt buckle
Music Notes belt buckle
Piano Keyboard belt buckle

Both guys and gals can enjoy music belt buckles.  There is no limit to the selection of music accessories one can wear.  Musical belt buckles might include a guitar belt buckle or one with music notes, a country music belt buckle or one related to other types of music, an accordion belt buckle or other popular instruments, such as a trumpet, banjo, mandolin, piano keyboard, etc.

Earrings, pins, cufflinks, scarves, neckties, etc. as well as music belt buckles are great examples of music accessories.  But where do you put your musical accessories?  Many items fit very well in a music jewelry box, while such things as neckties fit well on a tie rack, earrings on a earring rack, etc.

Belt buckles, if you have a lot of them, can be wrapped and kept in a shoebox, or you can use them to create music bedroom decor.  Simply done, select a piece of fabric, create a geometric shape, attach your music belt buckles and display on your bedroom wall.  Voila, you have created music bedroom decor.  You can do this with any music accessories that you can attach to a strip of fabric to create a type of music wall hanging.

Be happy!  Enjoy all of your music-themed home decor, whether it be items you discover while shopping, or one-of-a-kind masterpieces you create!

Music Boxes as Music Decor

A New or Old Music Box ?

That is a very good question!  Since a music box is an easy way to spruce up music decor, either one, a brand-spanking new one, or an old one that has a story to tell, can be a wise choice.

If you are looking for a music box gift, it is probably wise to buy a new musicbox, but if the recipient likes vintage, then by all means, see what kind of old music box you can find that you think they will like.

When buying a music box gift, answer the questions -- Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How.
  1. Who is it for?
  2. What will they do with it?
  3. When will they play it?
  4. Where can they set it?
  5. Why would they like what you have picked out?
  6. How often will they use it?

Vintage Music Boxes --

Who likes them?

It depends!  Vintage music boxes make great collectibles and add a lot of charm to your music decor.  People sometimes look for unique types, such as patriotic, animals, musical instruments, Christmas or holiday, souvenir, etc. to fit in a particular setting.

Other times, the tune is more important.  Some tunes, nostalgic, in particular, are harder to find than others. A person with a collection might buy a music box to go with their music decor because they have none with the tune it plays.  They will be delighted with vintage music boxes if the tune satisfies them.

A Wind-Up Music Box --

All music boxes wind up, but there are two basic types.

One has a base that screws on to the bottom.  To wind it up, the base is turned clockwise.  The music box rotates counter-clockwise when playing and needs to run all the way down and stop.  There is no way to turn it off.  Some, instead of a base, may have a wheel or similar means of winding located on the side or on top, but the concept is the same.  There is no way to turn them off.

Another type of wind-up music box will have a key that is wound by turning it clockwise.  A slide bar or similar feature can be moved left or right to turn it on or off.  Instead of a slide bar, it could also be a small up or down switch or similar mechanism that turns the music/motion on and off.

Music Boxes that Sold on eBay --

Initially, I had over 100 music boxes, all different, and each played a different tune, but many including the ones above were sold on eBay. When we began to downsize, we did not have room to keep them all.

Finding Area Rugs For Sale to go with Music Decor

Finding Cool Rugs on Sale

If you find exactly what you want on your first attempt, consider yourself lucky.  When you search for rugs to go with your home decor, be flexible.  You will know when you see an item if it will go with your color scheme and the theme you want.

Think about the best places to look.  Your local stores may have rugs on sale.  You may also want to search online.  Some stores may offer area rugs with free shipping.

Where can You Use Area Rugs

Think about your home.  Do you need bathroom rugs, children's rugs, or perhaps kitchen rugs in front of your sink, stove, or in front of your washer-dryer where you stand?  What about inside your entry door?  Do you have hallways or high traffic areas where runners would be a nice fit?

Don't forget your living room, music room or family room.  These rooms might be large enough to accommodate 8 x 10 area music rugs or even 9 x 12 area rugs.  They could be placed in the center of your conversation area, perhaps surrounded by a sofa on one side, a loveseat on another, and a couple of easy chairs on the third side.  Other ideas might be to put a smaller rug, such as a piano pedal pad, where you put your feet when playing the piano, or place a short runner in front of the TV or home entertainment center.  Place them under your coffee table or in front of your favorite chair.

What about bedroom rugs?  Your feet would love the soft touch of a rug when they touch the floor as you get out of bed in the morning.

If you find some really cool rugs in your favorite theme, think about using them as wall art.  Display them over the head of your bed or if you have a music theme, convert them to music wall art to go with your music decor.

Determine approximate dimensions for the areas where you want to place area rugs.

Do You have a Music Themed Room or other Special Theme

As an example, let's say you love music decor, so it seems logical that you might have a music theme where you could use music rugs; These might include piano rugs, guitar rugs, music learning rugs, or similar that would make your music themed room sing.  Along with a musical theme, color and design can play a very important part.  Identify which colors will blend with existing colors or add a needed accent.

Striped rugs might be just the design you are looking for.  Black and white rugs could have one stripe of a musical keyboard flowing through them giving the effect of a river with varying widths and flowing in a random design.  Speaking of striped rugs, what about a black silhouette of a guitar on a bed of multi-colored blue random flowing stripes.  Striped rugs can have a creative design or they might be just plain stripes.

A black and white rug might also be a runner with piano keys - a great fit for a hallway.  But if you can find a black and white rug in a short length, it could also be framed and used as music wall art.
Actually, any smaller rug could be hung and used as wall art.

Color is important too.    Musical area rugs can usually be found in a variety of colors and sizes. Perhaps you are gathering ideas for a music themed room and prefer music area rugs with earth tones or more mellow tones with a little green mixed in while displaying piano keys, musical instruments, music stand and music symbols in a music instruments novelty rug.

You may have a totally different theme, but whatever it is, remember to think outside the box and be creative.  Red rugs, yellow rugs, blue rugs, black and white rugs, oval rugs, round rugs, as well as a variety of rectangular shapes are only a few of what is available when you look at music area rugs for sale.

Jute Rug, Polypropylene Rugs, Olefin, and Other

When you are looking for area rugs for sale, look at what it is made of, what the backing is, and how to care for it.

If you find descriptions that say "power-loomed from durable, color-fast polypropylene", these would be considered Polypropylene rugs.  If a description says "woven 100% olefin with jute backing", this could be considered a Jute rug.  Olefin is a strong, colorfast, and stain-resistant synthetic that has a wool-like feel.

Some may have anti-static protection, soil and stain protection, and even come with a warranty.

These are only a few of the terms you may find.  The important thing to remember here is to read and be informed of what you are buying.  Make sure it will work for you.

Summary

You can find cool rugs for sale in a music theme as well as many other themes.  Know how you intend to use them and where you will place them.  Determine the dimensions you need and identify colors you want.  You will know when you find things you like.

Music Decor and More: This One's About "More"

Would you like to save money, make your life a little easier and have "more" time to do the things you want to do?  Tell your friends about this too.  They will thank you!

To get right to the point, this idea comes from a fellow music lover who also loves music decor.  She has found a way to save steps, save money, and save time.
  1. How does she save money?  She pays less, and she saves gas and wear and tear on her vehicle because of not having to drive all over town.
  2. How does she save steps?  She saves many, many steps, and keeps from performing tiring tasks week in and week out.  I will explain this later in the post.
  3. How does she save time?  She saves valuable time because she can perform tasks in the comfort of her own home at her own convenience.
She utilizes the store links on this site, particularly the Walmart link to do as much of her shopping as practical.  She saves many, many steps because she does not have to drive to the store, walk the aisles, stand in long lines, take the items to her car, load them in her car, drive home, and make many trips in and out of the house and up and down steps to carry them into the house.

When she places her order, the only one who sees her payment information is the payment processor, and her order is automatically sent to the department that fills the order.

When you click on the Walmart link, it takes you to a page where you can search any department in the store, and add any item in the store to your cart.  She has found that placing an order for staples, such as toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, cleaning products, canned goods and food items that come in packages, jars, or boxes allows her to buy only the items that she needs at great prices, and she is not tempted to add other items as she walks by them or because she is hungry at the time.  It is also possible to qualify for free shipping to your door when the order meets certain criteria.

As soon as the order arrives at her door, it is time to put things away.  When an item is nearly all used, it is time to come back to our Walmart link at a time that is convenient, and start placing items in the cart, and when there is enough for free shipping, another order can be placed.

When you are thinking about purchasing a large item that you may want to look at first, check those items out in the store when you make a trip to purchase your refrigerated, freezer, and fresh items.  It's a whole lot easier to check out in the store when you have only refrigerated, freezer, and fresh items.  You can come back home and place your order online for large items.

You can browse Walmart online to find a greater variety of things than you can possibly find at your local store.  After all, they are a department store and a grocery store.  If you live near a Walmart that is not a Superstore, you can still buy grocery items online and have them delivered.

Think about all of the possibilities -- besides food, what about other things you need, such as shampoo, hand lotion, vitamins, and other personal needs; what about items for your pet, healthy snacks, hardware, water hose, hose reel, sporting goods, toys, clothes, shoes, vacuum sweeper, freezer, household needs, and (don't forget) music decor, movies, and CD's.  The possibilities are endless, left only to your imagination.

You can save yourself an enormous amount of time, manage your budget and save money, and save your energy for things that you want to do all the while doing it at your convenience, and taking advantage of having items delivered to your door.

Quality of life is important to all of us.  One way to improve our quality of life is by finding "more" ways to make tasks we need to do on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis easier and less stressful while saving money, time, and energy.

Sincerely, I hope that you find value in this post and will consider the thoughts and suggestions offered here.  We hope you enjoy reading our posts and will return often to browse links we provide.  We make a little bit for every dollar you buy, so whenever you need something or just want to browse to see how far your budget dollar will go, we would appreciate your keeping us in mind.

Music Wall Decals and Music Wall Art

Music Decor can have different meanings to many people.  It might describe the furniture in your room, the paintings on your walls, your music boxes displayed in various places, or warm blends of music themes selected for your bedroom or bath.  The nice thing about music decor is that its size and shapes vary accordingly.  In this post, we will touch on music decor in the form of music wall decals and music wall art.

Think about using music wall decals to create a feeling of balanced harmony in your music wall art.

Personally, I like the vinyl wall decals because they come in many different shapes, styles, and sizes. Because these wall decals usually come in multiple pieces, they can be spread out to fit areas of different sizes. This makes it possible to use music wall decals in any room where you want music decor in your home from an area as small as the bathroom to a kitchen, bedroom, or even a large music room wall.

Choose the styles of music wall decals that you like best. Measure the area you want to decorate. Select the shape and the size that you can easily arrange on your wall. I like to first use a table or an area on the floor equivalent to the size of the wall I want to decorate and try different layouts to see how much space needs to be between each piece when putting the vinyl wall decals in place on the wall.

The music decor in your home does not all have to match. Simply put, by having a music theme, one item can compliment another. Try to place your music wall art where it will either add to an already musical atmosphere or be in an area where adding more music decor will be like adding another melody to your musical theme.

I like to think of my music decor as a way to give my home personality as well as express who I am.

Music Decor Back in the Day...

...when I was a child growing up, there was always music around us. Radio Station WOWO out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, woke us early in the morning. DJ's Jay Gould and Bob Dunbar played the music, did the announcements, and made us laugh.

Laughter and music went hand in hand. Dad or Mom or my Sister or Me could often be heard making home-grown music. Dad and Mom would whistle a tune, but to this day, I still have not gotten the hang of whistling. Mother, after a little coaxing, would play her electric guitar - Hawaiian guitar, that is. Sometimes we would sing along.

My mother, sister and I would often sing songs as we gathered around the piano. The electronic music keyboard had not been invented yet. We loved to sing gospel songs, old-time favorites that had become classics, waltzes, polkas, school songs, and just plain fun tunes. Some times we would sing until our voices started to get hoarse. Sometimes we would play music-related games.

We worked hard and after the work was done for the day, we had fun. Music was a big part of our lives. Depending on the task at hand, we might do a three-part round, such as "Row, Row, Row Your Boat"... or we might play a music game.

The walls were not so full of music decor back then, but we were surrounded with the beauty and harmony that music offers. Make the stream of life the best it can be whether you decorate with music decor or simply create an atmosphere where you dare to dream.

Music Decor, Music Notes, Musical Instruments and More

Blending the right combination of music decor will bring harmony to your home. Think about how you can enhance your music themed home decor.

Choose a gallery wall and accent it with music notes wall decor. The addition of a few musical notes in the right places will sing to your guests much like a chorus of blended voices.

Get in touch with your imagination, and picture yourself... Do you play musical instruments? If you do, chances are you have always wanted to play another one. Ever hear someone else play and wish you could do it? It's never too late to learn something new.

Think about how you can enhance your home decor by adding a light music theme to your other interests. Do not limit yourself to the decorations you place on your walls, items on your furniture, or accessories enjoyed in your outdoor living spaces. Compliment your home decor with music notes, musical instruments, and an array of music decor. Let the music sing to you. Make your home a place where you want to hang out.

Selecting Music Decor

How do you know which music decor is right for you?

What does music decor mean to you?

Do you want every single wall to have decor that is music related? Or do you prefer to have a focal point where you focus on a simple, yet elegant, reminder of your love for music, and then use accents of music themed home decor throughout the rest of your home...

Selecting decor, music decor, gifts, music party decorations, music themed home decor, wind spinners with music notes, bedroom-bath-music room art, throws, rugs, figurines, collectibles, corinthian bells chimes, and musical movies can be an overwhelming task.

The best advice I can offer is to take one step at a time. When you find a music themed item that you like, if you feel it will fit with your music decor theme, get it.

Define what music decor means for you. If you are an outdoor person, you might like to see a guitar wind spinner hanging on your porch or perhaps hear a corinthian bells chime nudged by a gentle breeze.

Not every wall, corner, room, crook nor cranny needs to be saturated with music decor. The main thing is that you select music decor that gives you pleasure and brings you a sense of enjoyment.

Decor Music Decor and Music-Themed Home Decor

If music puts a song in the air, gives your mind wings, adds flight to your imagination, and enriches life, can you afford not to tune-up your home with music decor?

What is music-themed home decor?

Think about this -- any interior or exterior decor - music related, for example, music themed furniture, or bed and bath accessories, wall art, tapestry selections, lamps, figurines, throws, rugs, collectibles, books, musical movies, wind spinners with music notes, party decorations, puzzles, games, and so forth that relates to music.

Many stylish, fun items are available in this category!

Where do you put it or how do you use it?

Some items, such as shower curtains, soap dispensers, or salt and pepper shakers, are made for certain areas. Other items, such as rugs, throws, or lamps just seem to fit better in one place versus another. But there is always room for flexibility because you can add music themed decor to any area of your home.

There is a lot of music decor wall art available in different sizes and subjects. It just depends on your particular tastes and where you will use it. The more elaborate, the more costly, but there are simpler, less expensive ones too.

Put a music box where you will play it every day. Music boxes are made to be played and enjoyed. Music boxes are happy. They will definitely put a song in your heart and are one of the easiest ways to add music decor to any room. I have a favorite music box and every time I walk by it, the beautiful tune starts playing in my head and creates a memory I can take with me in my mind. Some times I actually take time to wind it and listen to it play. Something as simple as a music box truly gives my mind wings and adds flight to my imagination.

One simple hook hanging from a plain music note might hold your bathrobe while you are in the shower, while another hook hanging from a treble clef can be used to hang your hat.

For your patio or garden area, enjoy nature's music with wind chimes. Corinthian Bells Chimes are usually a very welcome sound and come in a variety of tones. If you need more quiet, you might prefer watching a music-related wind spinner with music notes on a twirling machine. Wind spinners always look better twirling.

Consider Music decor for your home if you want to give your mind wings and add flight to your imagination because it can definitely enrich your life by taking your mind off of stressful situations and give you a new outlook on life.
